University of Port Harcourt Begins Comprehensive Replacement of Student Mattresses in Hostels
In a renewed commitment to enhancing student welfare and promoting a more comfortable living environment, the University of Port Harcourt has commenced the phased replacement of student mattresses across all halls of residence.

This vital initiative, aimed at improving the overall wellbeing, health, and academic experience of our students, will see the complete overhaul of old and worn-out foams with brand-new, high-quality, and durable mattresses. The replacement exercise has already begun and will continue systematically until every student residing in the hostels receives a new mattress.
The University expresses profound gratitude to the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council, Distinguished Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, for his visionary leadership and unwavering support. We also extend sincere appreciation to the entire Governing Council and the Management of the University of Port Harcourt for backing this timely and much-needed intervention.
This initiative is a testament to the University’s dedication to creating a conducive and student-friendly campus environment. It underscores our ongoing efforts to prioritize the comfort, safety, and welfare of our students as critical components of academic success and holistic development.
As this transformation continues, we remain steadfast in our resolve to raise the standards of campus life and foster a vibrant academic community where students can thrive.
