University of Port Harcourt Students Shine Nationally, Putting the Institution on the Awards Map

The University of Port Harcourt has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to academic excellence and innovation as two of its brilliant students clinched top honours at the Distinction AI Quizathon Competition, a highly competitive national event organized by FlexiSAF for tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

Ukwunnah Chinemerem, a student of the Department of Geography and Environmental Management, and Agarry Promise, from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, emerged as champions after a rigorous and intellectually stimulating contest that tested participants’ understanding and application of Artificial Intelligence concepts in real-world scenarios.

Their outstanding performance not only earned them individual accolades but also brought pride and recognition to the University on a national platform, reinforcing UniPort’s reputation as a centre of academic brilliance and forward-thinking scholarship.

The University Management proudly acknowledges and commends the Deans of the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Engineering, as well as the Heads of the respective Departments, for their continuous dedication to academic mentorship and student development.
