A BRIEF PROFILE OF THE ACADEMIC AFFAIRS DIVISION
UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT
INTRODUCTION/MANDATE
The Academic Affairs division is a directorate and one of the major divisions within the Registry and thus headed by a Director referred to as the Director, Academic Affairs or The Academic Officer, and responsible to the Registrar for the day to day running of the Academic Affairs Division.
The Division is charged with admission, examination and graduation matters at the undergraduate student level as well as keeping of student records. It is also charged with other academic affairs lil<e Senate meetings and academic ceremonials. The Division discharges its functions through three (3) main units, namely; Senate Office, Admissions Office, and Examinations and Records Office; with each of the Units having a Unit Head and Support Staff. These three units mal<e up the Academic Division as graphically presented below:

CONCLUSION
The Academic Division is evidently a very Important arm of the Registry Department in charge of academic matters, which is the very essence of the University. In view of the nature of the services it renders, the Division can thus be described as the live wire f the University.
