V-C Commends Kpolovie, Igwe

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ndowa Lale, has showered praises on Professor Peter Kpolovie of the Department of Educational Psychology, Guidance and Counselling, Faculty of Education, for winning the Next Generation Indie Book Award for 2018. The award was organised by the Independent Book Publishing Professionals Group in the United States.

“May I, on behalf of the Management, commend you on this brilliant performance. This is an eloquent testimony to the quality of research carried out over the years and your contribution to knowledge. I am also happy to note that this award has placed you and the University as reference points in the academia globally. We therefore, rejoice with you on this and other landmark achievements,” part of the letter to Professor Kpolovie read.

Professor Lale also commended Professor Godwin Igwe, who was pioneer Director of the Centre for Gas, Refining and Petrochemical for his election as a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering. The fellowship was conferred on Professor Igwe at the Nigerian Academy of Engineering Council meeting on April 11, 2018.

“On behalf of the Management of the University of Port Harcourt, I write to congratulate you on your effort and commitment that resulted in this rare feat. This is an eloquent testimony to the quality of teaching and research you conducted in the University since you joined us. We therefore, rejoice with you on this and other achievements,” part of the letter to Professor Igwe read.

In separate commendation letters he personally signed dated June 13, 2018, the Vice-Chancellor expressed joy over the outstanding contributions by the two scholars towards the development of the University.
