Ag VC Restates Commitment To Rotary Club

The Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Stephen Okodudu, has lauded the humanitarian endeavours of the Rotary Club of Choba Uniport, describing its exploits as unprecedented.
Professor Okodudu made the remarks when he granted audience to the Executives of Rotary Club of Choba-Uniport, District 9141 led by its President, Professor Emmanuel Emasealu, at the Vice Ch a n c e l l o r ' s Co mmi t t e e Ro o m o n Th u r s d a y, September 10, 2020.
The visibly elated Acting Vice Chancellor poured encomiums on the Club for their humanitarian services particularly, the efforts to wards the eradication of polio in the country.
“I want to particularly thank you for your efforts in combating the polio scourge that has ravaged the health of our children in the country ,” the Acting Vice Chancellor said, appealing to the Club to step up efforts in containing the spread of Coronavirus disease. He called on the Club to always factor the University in to its schedules. Speaking earlier , the President of the Association, Professor Emasealu had earlier informed the Acting Vice Chancellor that Rotary had concluded plans to provide water at the Captain Elechi Amadi Faculty of Humanities building as part of its efforts in bringing meaning and succour to the staff and students of the Faculty. He also briefed Professor Okodudu on the modest achievements of Rotary Club of ChobaUniPort, appealing for an office space at the University to enable the Club to continue in its quality services to
the University Community and its environs. He used the occasion to inform the Acting Vice Chancellor that UniPort has been chosen by Rotary Club Internat ional to host this year's Special Luncheon and Induction Service of new members. He invited the Acting Vice Chancellor and Principal Officers to grace the occasion, which he said would hold on November 3, 2020.
