Former First Lady Showers Encomiums On AVC, UniPort

Nigeria's former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, has showered praises on the Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Stephen Okodudu for consolidating on the growth of the University. She expressed gratitude that the University where her husband obtained his first to the terminal degrees is doing excellently well in the delivery of its core mandate Speaking when she paid a stop-by visit on the Acting Vice Chancellor in his office on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, the former First Lady, stated that she decided to visit the University to commend the effort of Management in growing the University. Mrs Jonathan used the opportunity to thank the Acting Vice Chancellor for the warm reception accorded her husband when he visited the University on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 to pay his last respect to his former teacher, late Emeritus Professor Samuel Okiwelu during a Special convocation held in his honour. Responding, the Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Okodudu, who was delighted with the visit, pointed out that former President Goodluck Jonathan who was nurtured in the University of Port Harcourt brought great honour to the Institution. He expressed the readiness of the University to continue to accord the former President, who is a proud alumnus, the honour he deserves.
