I'm thrilled to share that on the 4th of October, 2024, I was announced the 1st runner-up in the WIPO National IP Essay Competition 2024.
The 2024 edition of the competition launched on April 27, 2024, with the theme, “IP and Sustainable Agriculture: Combating Food Insecurity in Nigeria” was focused on the broader World IP Day 2024 theme: “IP and the SDGs: Building our common future with innovation and creativity”.
The winning essay delved towards leveraging IP – the promotion and protection of innovative or creative works of the mind – to drive sustainable agriculture in combating food
insecurity and ensuring a more resilient future for Nigeria.
Furthermore, as part of the capacity-building initiative of WIPO for being one of the 20 finalists in the essay competition, I was opportuned to (be invited to) participate in the WIPO IP Study Tour, where I gained invaluably profound insights into IP in practice.
