UNIPORT ESRI ARCGIS 100 AFRICA UNIVERSITY INITIATIVE

UNIPORT elected interest in the membership of this initiative in June 2014 and obtained the software license in December Institute2014. This initiative is meant to spread the use of ArcGIS Software and spatial analysis across Africa Universities Environmental Systems Research Institute (ERSI) headquartered in California, USA is a pioneer and they have obtained 3000 licenses to the University Teaching, learning and research. ArcGIS is the leading software for Geographical Information Systems (GIS) across the world. For the implementation and deployment of the software a committee was commissioned and between the times of MOU signing and now have held several meetings on strategies for deploying the software for the use and benefit of staff and students of the University.
