2011/2012 POST NCE SANDWICH PROGRAMME

ADMISSION INTO THE UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT
 POST-NCE (SANDWICH) DEGREE PROGRAMME FOR 2011/2012 SESSION

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into various courses in the Post-NCE Degree Programme of the University.

 The Post-NCE Degree Programmes are offered in the following Departments of the Faculty of Education:
1. Curriculum Studies and Educational Technology.
2. Educational  Foundations
3. Educational Management
4. Educational  Psychology, Guidance  and Counseling
5. Human Kinetics  and Health  Education

DURATION OF PROGRAMME
The duration of programmes offered is usually four (4) long vacations.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for admission, candidates must have an average of Merit in the NCE results.

All Humanities courses are housed in the Department of Educational Foundations, while all Science courses are housed in the Department of Curriculum Studies and Educational Technology. The Department of Educational Management takes care of courses offered in the Faculties of Social and Management Sciences.

In addition to the regular teaching subjects, the Department of Educational Management also offers a B.Sc (Ed) in Accounting while the Department of Educational Psychology, Guidance and Counselling offers a professional course in Counselling Psychology (i.e.  without  a teaching subject).

Applicants with Home Economics and Technical Education as teaching subjects can only apply to the Department of Educational Psychology, Guidance and Counselling, to read Counselling Psychology.

  
Note
a. Holders of Diploma in Education, Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) or their equivalents need not apply.
b.  NCE results at the Pass level are not accepted.
c. Applicants who obtained their NCE Certificates from 1998  to 2008 would be required on admission, to present the originals of their Certificates.
d. Inconsistencies in names are not accepted. Applicants must apply with the set of name on their Certificates or if change of name was made on marital grounds, all necessary documents must be attached.

CLOSING DATE
Completed Application Forms with all necessary enclosures must be returned to the Post-NCE Sandwich Office not later than Thursday, 31st May, 2012.
