Adukwu-Bolujoko Heads New UPHBS Board


A new ten-member Board of Governors has been inaugurated to provide effective policy direction for the University of Port Harcourt Business School (UPHBS). The reconstituted Board headed by the Managing Director of TITSALL Nigeria Ltd, Dr. Sally Adukwu-Bolujoko, was inaugurated on Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Governing Council Chambers, Senate Building, University Park.
Speaking before inaugurating the reconstituted Board on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Administration, Professor Regina Ogali, congratulated members on their appointment and thanked them for accepting to serve the University in such capacity.
“Going through the list, I don't think we made any mistake in choosing the Board members. We carefully selected competent people who are doing exceptionally well in their businesses to provide direction and purpose for our Business School to enable it to compete favourably with other Business Schools in the world. It is our hope that this Board would render quality service to the University of Port Harcourt Business School and to the greater service of humanity,” she said.
The Registrar, Mrs. Dorcas Otto, also joined in conveying the gratitude of Management to the Board members for accepting the huge responsibility thrust on their broad shoulders by the University. She expressed hope that the Board would drive the activities of the School to enviable heights.
In her acceptance on behalf of other members, Dr. Adukwu-Bolujoko, who was part of the previous Board, expressed gratitude to the University for selecting them to serve. She pledged the commitment of the new members to the advancement of the School.  
“I and other members accept this onerous task to serve the University in this capacity and I want to thank the Vice-Chancellor for finding us worthy to join him in growing the University. The Vice-Chancellor is driven by value and I respect him for that. His policy that students should do the right thing before writing examinations is a right step and a global best practice in any higher institution of learning. We will not abdicate on our assignment to the School and the University. We will do our best to take the Board to the next level and we will be purpose-driven,” the Board Chairman promised.
Other members of the Board are Director of the School, Professor Okey Onuchuku, Professor Ebi Amakoromo, Chief Emeh Glory Emeh, Chief James Jephthah, Chief Barry Peregbe, Drs. Monday Akpan and Kiipoye Aaron, Messrs Grant Orugbani and Silva Opuala-Charles.
