PENCOM Commends UniPort For Supporting Its Activities


The National Pensions Commission has expressed gratitude to authorities of the University for the support given to the Commission in the discharge of its activities over the years.
Representative of the Commission in charge of Verification Exercise, Mr. John Abazuwa, extended the appreciation when he led officials of the Commission to pay a courtesy visit on the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ndowa Lale at the Committee Room on Wednesday, July 19, 2017.
The Chairman disclosed that the team was in the University to verify prospective retirees for 2018 in all Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the South-South zone. He thanked Management of the University for providing the Commission with a suitable venue to carry out the exercise. Mr. Abazuwa assured Management that the Commission would reciprocate the gesture by always executing its mandate in an efficient and responsible manner.
Responding, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Regina Ogali, who stood in for the Vice-Chancellor, commended the Commission for doing a good job. She assured the delegation of continued support from authorities of the University to enable it to discharge its functions without hitches. Professor Ogali also advised the Commission to ensure that cases of retirees passing through hectic times to access their due entitlements were promptly addressed.
Also speaking, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Hakeem Fawehinmi, expressed gratitude to the Commission for performing its functions to the retirees, who gave their best to the nation. He expressed hope that the Commission would do its best to render efficient service to the retirees.
