Principal Officers Fete Fawehinmi

Following the completion of his two-year second term in office as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Principal Officers’ Meeting hosted Professor Hakeem Fawehinmi to a farewell get-together to appreciate him for his outstanding performance in the line of duty in the last four years.

Speaking during the brief ceremony which held at the Governing Council Chambers, inside Senate Building on Friday, April 24, 2020, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ndowa Lale commended Professor Fawehinmi for the quality services he rendered towards the growth of the University, including making personal sacrifices that helped to keep the system going.

“We thank you for the quality services you rendered to the University in these four years. We really enjoyed the team spirit you exhibited. We have passed through turbulent period together in these years, yet you stood firmly with us. Our collective prayer is for God to bless you bountifully and chart a new part for you as you return to your Department. I am also happy that you have made your report ready. I will soon join you on the sidelines,” the Vice Chancellor stated.

Other Principal Officers comprising the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Professor Regina Ogali, Registrar, Mrs Dorcas Otto, Bursar, Dr Felicia Ayuwo and University Librarian, Dr Susan Umeozor, took turns to eulogise the 6th Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) for his meritorious services to the University.

In his response, Professor Fawehinmi showered praises on the Vice Chancellor, Professor Lale and Senate for the opportunity given him to serve the University in such an exalted capacity.

“I worked with some of the finest set of administrators as a team in these past four years. I learnt so much from the team and I want to say a big thank you to this wonderful team. I also wish to specially thank the Vice Chancellor for affording me the opportunity to serve on his star-studded team,” Professor Fawehinmi said. He pledged his readiness to continue to work for the University in any other capacity that may be assigned to him in the line of duty.  The Vice Chancellor later led other Principal Officers to hand over some gift items to the former Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic).
