PROF. (MRS.) BENE WILLIE ABBEY
She acquired education from several institutions and excelled in each level as follows:
- AME Zion School, Ogborowo-Odiabidi for primary education, but had to sit for the entrance into Secondary School in Primary five having performed credibly, she gained admission into one of the most acclaimed Secondary School then, Archdeacon Growther Memorial Girls’ School, Elelenwo, as well as an Eastern Nigeria Government Scholarship. She equally performed credibly in the ordinary level exams and proceeded to study for the Higher School Certificate in the same School.
- Her next educational journey was at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State. She initially chose to study Veterinary Medicine but quickly changed to Agricultural Biochemistry and Nutrition. Following her excellent performance, she was a university scholar i.e. awarded a special scholarship by the University for excellence. She graduated with a 2nd Class Upper Division.
- Finally, Prof. Bene Willie Abbey proceeded to the University of Nottingham, England where she obtained a Ph.D. degree in Nutritional Biochemistry.
