AWARDS AND DISTINCTIONS

Prof. Abbey has numerous professional and social awards and some are as follows:

1. Awarded University of Ibadan Scholarship and was trained by the University throughout.
2. Awarded the Senior Fulbright Research Fellowship, a prestigious award from the USA.

Apart from awards, she has also been honoured by various groups in the Old Rivers State Communities.

1. Award of Excellence in recognition of her contribution towards the Development of Graduate program in the University of Port Harcourt in 2011 by the Graduate Students Union.
2. Award of commemoration of meritorious service to the Faculty of Science at the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Faculty on the 31st March, 2010.
3. Award of Excellence in recognition of her significant and sustainable contribution to the University and the Graduates Students Union in 2010 Graduate Students Union (GSU) Week.
4. NABS Grand Patron Award in recognition of her immense Contributions to the National Association of Biochemistry Students.
5. Award by the Institute of Industrial Administration due to her contribution to manpower development in 2008.
