1. WHAT IS REQUIRED?

Beginning in October 2012, the Bamanga Tukur Institute for International Trade and Development, University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) is offering an inter-disciplinary programme in International Trade and Development leading to the Master of Science. It is de-signed chiefly to help provide an interdisciplinary perspective on Trade and Development to individuals interested in International Trade and Development Policy Careers.

The programme is open to applicants who possess a bachelor’s degree in Economics, Political Science, Finance, History, Geography or related field or have earned a law degree.

The programme in International Trade and Development is specifically designed to offer the interdisciplinary theoretical foundation necessary for individuals who wish to prepare for careers in these areas and others where a broad perspective on International Trade and Development Policy issues is required

Balancing theory and application, the programme is designed to give students an understanding of the issues, concepts, principles, processes and procedures that play key roles in the formulation and implementation of trade and broad macroeconomic policies.

The programme consists of formal courses, field work and research under the guidance of an adviser.

4. WHAT CAN I DO WITH A MASTER’S DEGREE IN INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND DEVELOPMENT?

The UNIPORT master’s programme in International Trade and Development provides graduates with the knowledge and tools necessary in formulating and implementing international trade and development policies.
