Abraham, Iyagba Win Congregation Council Slots

Director, College of Continuing Education (CCE), D Professor Nath Abraham and Graduate Studies Officer, School of Graduate Studies, Mrs Flora Iyagba, have been elected to represent the Congregation in the Governing Council. Professor Abraham was elected to represent the Teaching Staff, while Mrs Iyagba represents the Administrative, Professional and Technical thStaff. The election was conducted at the 68 Congregation held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the Ebitimi Banigo Auditorium. Announcing the results of the election, the Acting Vice Chancellor and Chief Electoral Officer, Professor Stephen Okodudu, disclosed that Professor Abraham polled a total of 461, while two other contestants, Professors Tammy Orunaboka and Edward Alikor got 381 and 88, respectively. Similarly, Mrs Iyagba polled a total of 562 to defeat Mr Job Borgbara and Mrs Elizabeth Amadi, who scored 201 and 159, respectively. Speaking earlier, the Acting Vice Chancellor, informed Congregation that sequel to the approval by Senate, he appointed Professor Abdulrazaq Kilani as Coordinator (Academic Affairs) to oversee the office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic). He urged the winners to see their victory as a call for service, stating that being a member of Council does not attract any financial fortune.
