Brief Profile:

Prof. Obioma Kenechukwu Agwa  is a Professor of Environmental/Industrial Microbiology and algae biotechnology. An acknowledged academic who studied Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology at various levels at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Currently she is a lecturer with the Department of Microbiology University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.

She has co-authored three books on the structure and basic units of life and water purification. My research area is centered on waste management and it’s utilization for the production of useful biological products. Chlorella vulgaris  has been used mainly as a potential feedstock for the production of various organic acids, expolysaccharides, bioplastics etc that can be used for various oil field activities. Currently I have successfully supervised upto 8 PhD, 30 MSc, 20PGDM and 200 undergraduates.
