Dr. Nneka Gabriel-Job

Dr. Nneka Gabriel-Job – Senior lecturer,
Department of Paediatric and Child Health,
University of Port Harcourt

Dr. Nneka Gabriel-Job was born and raised in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. She graduated with a Bachelor in Medicine & Bachelor in Surgery (MB; BS) from the University of Port Harcourt in 2003 and obtained a Fellowship (Paediatrics) of the West African College of the Physician (FWACP) in 2015. In addition to the professional fellowship qualification, she also holds a master’s degree in Public Health (2018), and a Ph.D in Public Health (2023) also from the University of Port Harcourt.

She is a distinguished academic and healthcare professional at the University of Port Harcourt, where she serves as a senior lecturer in the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health. Dr Gabriel-Job is a prolific writer and has published in several reputable journals (both national and international) with special interest in childhood epilepsy, neurodevelopmental disorders and adolescent reproductive health.

In addition to her research, Dr. Gabriel-Job is deeply involved in teaching, supervising, guiding medical students and residents through their academic journeys. She is also involved administrative duties in the department.

She is ardent about enhancing paediatric care in her community and remains dedicated to fostering the next generation of medical professionals through both her teaching and clinical work.

Prof. Rosemary Ogochukwu Ugwu

Prof. Rosemary Ogochukwu Ugwu is a Professor of Paediatrics in Department of Paediatrics and Child Health of the University of Port Harcourt and an Honorary Consultant Paediatrician at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.  She is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians and the Head, Paediatric Infectious Disease Unit, UPTH as well as the Focal Person, Paediatric HIV, UPTH, Focal Person, Childhood TB control, UPTH and Co-Chairman,Paediatric and Adolescent Antiretroviral Therapy Technical Working Group, Rivers State.

She has published overFifty papers in National and International journals, Eleven Chapters in medical textbooks for undergraduate and postgraduate doctorsand has also madeThirty-seven paper presentations in National and International conferences as well as a Co-editor of an International medical textbook. She has successfully supervised eleven dissertations and is currently supervising three dissertations, two PhD and one Masters

She has Facilitated over 25 workshops as the Resource Person and is a Peer Reviewer to both National and International journals. She has also delivered over 15 Public lectures in radio and TV stations in Rivers State

She is a member of many professional bodies including Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), Nigerian Society of Paediatric Infectious Diseases (NISPID), and Paediatric Association of Nigeria (PAN)
