Emmanuel Nwakanma is a seasoned academic with a passion for social research, development studies, gender dynamics and culture. Nwakanma’s academic journey began at the University of Port Harcourt and blossomed further at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Over the years, he has established himself as a passionate researcher, dedicated educator, and active community member. He has also published extensively in both local and international journals. His research interests cover critical issues in sociology such as sustainable development, culture and human adaptive strategies, social change, gender dynamics, and peace management. His works have garnered recognition and are readily accessible through platforms like Academia, ORCID, Google Scholar, Research Gate (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Emmanuel-Nwakanma).
Nwakanma teaches Sociology at the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. As a dedicated educator, he is committed to inspiring students and fostering critical thinking. He employs innovative teaching methods, such as the Montessori system of education, to create engaging and interactive learning experiences.
Beyond academia, Emmanuel Nwakanma actively engages with the community, showcasing a strong commitment to social responsibility. He has consistently mentored young persons and received numerous accolades for his contributions to community development. Notably, he is a Fellow of the Nigerian Anthropological and Sociological Association and a member of the International Sociological Association.
ADAKU AGNES UBELEJIT-NTE

Adaku Agnes Ubelejit-Nte obtained a PhD in Urban Sociology from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria in 2011. Her thesis titled “The New Media and Social Change: A Study of the Changing Patterns of Fashion in Six Selected Nigerian Universities” was adjudged the winner of the “NUC’s Best Doctoral Thesis Award in the Social Science discipline within the period 2011 in Nigerian tertiary education sector. She has been teaching in the department of Sociology, University of Port Harcourt, since January, 2014. Her research interests span through Climate responsive Fashion and Beauty among POC, Urban, Women and Gender studies. Adaku is a member of the Research Committee on Women and Gender in society of the International Sociological Association (ISA), Research Collective for Decolonization of Fashion (RCDF) and Dress and Body Association (DBA).

Aaron Anyanabia, PhD
Aaron Anyanabia is a multidisciplinary skilled social scientist at the University of Port Harcourt. He holds, Bsc, Msc and PhD degrees in Sociology from the same University who specializes in Criminology.
Aaron Anyanabia is a proactive researcher with excellent team motivating qualities, easy adaption to innovation, and fluent in interaction with people. He has participated in several workshops and conferences one of these was organized by Chatham House (The Royal Institution of International Affiars UK).
Aaron Anyanabia is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Port Harcourt and has the desire to secure challenging research to expand his learning, Knowledge and skills to contribute significantly to the success of any research engagement and establishment.
Dr. Collins Okechukwu Amadi

Dr. Collins Okechukwu Amadi is a lecturer at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He obtained his B.Sc. in Sociology from University of Port Harcourt (2014) and then proceeded to Post Graduate School, University of Port Harcourt where he obtained his M.Sc. in Sociology (2018) and thereafter proceeded to the Famous Ignatius Ajuru University of Education where he obtained his Ph.D. in Sociology (Industrial And Human Resources Management) 2021 as area of major. He is a Fellow of Institute of Management Consultant IMC-Nigeria. He is also a member of Nigerian Anthropological and Sociological Practitioners Association.
HIS RESEARCH INTEREST
Industrial and Human Resources Management and Social work. He has made great Scholarly contributions in this research interest in several scientific conference papers and in reputable national and international journals. He serves as a quality Control Officer at Horizon Fibres Nigeria Limited from 1988 t0 1992. He worked at The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC) from 1992 to 2022 as a Contract Staff. In 2023, he gained full employment with the University of Port Harcourt as a lecturer in the Department of Sociology.

PROF. CHIOMA DAISY ONYIGE

Chioma Daisy Onyige, PhD, is a Professor of Criminology in the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. She holds a B.A. in English Studies, an MSc in Sociology (Institutional Analysis), and a PhD in Sociology with specializations in Criminology, Police Science, and Social Work—all earned from the prestigious University of Port Harcourt.
Her research interests span a wide array of topics, including gender and crime, environmental sociology, gender and climate change, conflict resolution, and peacebuilding. Over the past decade, her work has focused extensively on migration and contemporary slavery studies, with a particular emphasis on human trafficking and the smuggling of women and children from Africa to Europe.
Professor Onyige has built an outstanding international academic and professional portfolio, earning several prestigious fellowships, including those from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva, Switzerland; the Rachel Carson Center (RCC) for Environment and Society, Munich, Germany; the African Science Leadership Programme (ASLP), University of Pretoria, South Africa; the Commonwealth Fellowship, University of Oxford, UK; the Global Young Academy (GYA), German National Academy of Sciences, Leopoldina, Germany; the Kate Hamburger Kolleg “Law as Culture,” University of Bonn, Germany; the Heinz Heinen Senior Fellowship at the Cluster of Excellence “Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies,” University of Bonn, Germany; and a Research Fellowship at the Émile Durkheim Research Unit, University of Bonn, Germany. In addition to these fellowships, she has contributed significantly to global initiatives as Lead Author for Africa Scoping Deliverable 2b under the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES); Lead Author for the Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC); and as a Member of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission’s Alumni Advisory Panel, UK. Professor Onyige is also an accomplished author and editor, with five books and over 50 scholarly works, including articles, book chapters, reviews, and essays. Some of her notable publications include *The Challenges, Complexities, and Uncertainties of International Mobility for Global South Scholars in the Era of COVID-19: A Perception from a Nigerian Scholar* (2022), *Female Migration and Development in Nigeria* (2019), and *Globalization, Poverty, and Human Trafficking in Nigeria* (2018).
Her contributions to academia and society have been recognized with numerous international, national, and local awards, cementing her status as a leading voice in criminology, migration studies, and environmental sociology.
DR. LARRY-LOVE EFFIONG NDUONOFIT

Dr. Larry-love Effiong Nduonofit is a lecturer in the Department of Sociology, University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. He holds a PhD degree in Sociology with specialization in Development studies. He is a Social Performance expert with field-based experience in social impact assessment (SIA) and social impact management (SIM).
He is mostly concerned with the impact of projects/opportunities development on project areas and communities, with critical interest on strategic mitigation measures that underscores community trust and support (CTS). He is a writer/researcher and has published research materials in various local and international journals.
Dr. Larry-love Nduonofit is an associate member of the Institute of Development Administration of Nigeria (IDAN), Rivers State Coordinator as well as Publicity Secretary for the South-South branch of the Nigerian Anthropological and Sociological Association (NASA). He is married with three lovely Princesses.
DR. IHUNWO CHIMA

Dr. IHUNWO Chima is an esteemed academic and researcher in the field of Sociology, with a focus on Development Studies, Population Studies, and Social Work. Known for his interdisciplinary approach, Dr. Chima has made significant contributions to understanding the impact of media on Society, Demographic Dynamics, and Community Welfare. His research explores how mass communication shapes public opinion, influences societal norms, and affects social behaviours, especially within diverse population groups. Additionally, Dr. Chima has conducted extensive studies on population trends, addrssing pressing issues such as migration, urbanization, and population health. His expertise in social work complements his academic pursuits, as he is dedicated to applying research findings to real-world challenges and fostering social justice. Dr. Chima is highly regarded for his engaging teaching style, encouraging critical thinking and active participation among students. Through his scholarly work, lectures and mentorship, he has become a pivotal figure in his field, inspiring the next generation of Sociologists and Social Workers. Dr. Chima’s contributions continue to influence policy and practice, bridging the gap between academia and societal needs.
DR. OBATARHE EHORO

Obatarhe EHORO is a lecturer in the Department of Sociology, University of Port Harcourt. She holds a BSc, M.Sc. and PhD degrees in Sociology from the renowned University of Port Harcourt. Her area of specialization is Sociology of Development.
She has over 15 years experience in University administration and recently joined the Department of Sociology as a lecturer.
Dr. Obatarhe Ehoro has published several academic papers in reputable Journals and has attended several conferences and workshops.
She is interested in exploring issues related to social justice, inequality, instability and diversity in the society.
Overall, she is a dedicated and passionate Sociology lecturer who is committed to promoting critical thinking in relation to contemporary sociological issues and social awareness.
Her hobbies include motivational speeches and advocating a healthy life-style
Dr. Helen Oziri MMECHA

Helen Oziri Mmecha is a lecturer in the Department of Sociology, University of Port Harcourt. She has multidisciplinary knowledge in the fields of Management and Sociology, and specializes in Sociology of Development. She obtained a B.Sc in Secretarial Administration, an MBA in Management (Rivers State University); a Postgraduate Diploma in Sociology, an M.Sc in Human Resource/Personnel Management and PhD degrees (University of Port Harcourt).
With over ten years of experience in university administration and human resource management as a Deputy Registrar, she has a passion for research, teaching, community service and creative writing. Her book ‘Dual Identity’ is a best seller and currently used as a study material in the University of Port Harcourt.
Her research interests are migration, gender and development studies. She is a member of the Nigeria Anthropological and Sociological Practitioners Association (NASA) and Gender-based Violence Research Team anchored in the Department of Sociology, University of Port Harcourt. She was a Congregation Representative, University Demonstration Primary School Board and has served in several university committees.
She has attended numerous local and foreign conferences including the BONN Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies/University of Port Harcourt International Workshop on Contemporary Slavery and Asymmetrical Dependency in Nigeria.
Dr. Dagogo Semenitari Abam

Dr. Dagogo Semenitari Abam is a medical graduate of the University of Port Harcourt, a Fellow of the West Africa College of Surgeons (Faculty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology) and the International College of Surgeons. He is a Senior Lecturer in the university (Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology) and an Honorary Consultant with the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.
His research interest is in Feto-Maternal Medicine, and he is a member of the Association of Feto-Maternal Specialists of Nigeria (AFEMSON). He is involved in the training of medical students of the University of Port Harcourt, and training and supervision of postgraduate students (Resident doctors) of the postgraduate medical colleges in the country. He is also involved in lecturing and supervising of postgraduate students of the University of Port Harcourt School of Public Health.
Dr. Abam does carry out multiple surgical procedures, both obstetric and gynaecologic, on patients of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, and helping in the development of surgical skills of younger doctors.
DR. CHRISTIAN CHIGOZI ORIJI

Oriji, Christian Chigozi is a staff of University of Port Harcourt, Choba. He is an Associate Prof. of Medical Sociology in Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Port Harcourt, Choba.
Oriji, Christian Chigozi is a visiting scholar to Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni in Rivers State. He is also a member of committees in University of Port Harcourt and in reputable journal organizations.
Oriji, Christian Chigozi has attended and presented papers in national and international conferences. He has published eight books, eight monographs and thirteen chapters in books to his credit. He has over 70 publications in national and international articles, along with conference papers in reputable scholarly
organizations, the world over.
