Chinese Consulate Commissions “Window to China” at UniPort
The Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China has commissioned the “Window to China” at the University of Port Harcourt, following the completion of works by CCECC. The Consul General, His Excellency Yan Yuqing, was represented at the event by Deputy Consul General, Jin Mingyu.
Speaking at the unveiling, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Owunari Georgewill, commended the Chinese Consulate for the initiative, describing it as a living, breathing hub for research, translation, dialogue, and cultural exchange. He noted that the Window to China will be accessible to both staff and students, serving as a tool for rethinking globalization from a perspective of reciprocity rather than dependency.
Prof. Georgewill further stressed that the project is a call to action that demands intellectual commitment, innovation, and participation from staff and students. He expressed optimism that the facility will transform minds on culture, education, and international collaboration at the University.
