Change of Leadership in ASUU Uniport: Professor Omeh Obasi Ngwoke Assumes Chairmanship

A new chapter has begun in the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Port Harcourt Chapter, as Professor Omeh Obasi Ngwoke has officially assumed the mantle of leadership. He takes over from the immediate past Chairman, Professor Uzoma Darlington Chima, following a seamless and democratic transition conducted during a special ASUU Congress held at the ASUU Secretariat, University of Port Harcourt. The election, marked by unity and transparency, signifies a peaceful and purposeful transition that reflects the maturity and progress of ASUU Uniport. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Professor Ngwoke, a distinguished academic and an erudite scholar, on his emergence as Chairman. As he steps into this vital role, we encourage him to uphold the values and aspirations of the union, always placing the interests of the University of Port Harcourt at the forefront of his stewardship.

Equally, we congratulate all members of the newly elected Executive Committee and urge them to work in synergy, fostering cohesion and excellence as they steer the affairs of ASUU Uniport toward greater strength and relevance.

Our profound gratitude also goes to Professor IJ Darlington Chima, the Immediate Past Chairman, who has recently been appointed as a member of the Governing Council of the University of Port Harcourt. His tenure was a remarkable four-year journey of innovation, dedication, and transformative achievements. We celebrate his legacy and wish him even greater success in his future endeavors.
