Council Celebrates Dedicated Service as Six Members Bow Out

It was an emotion-laden event as the University Governing Council bid farewell to six of its esteemed members whose tenure on the Council has come to an end after years of meritorious service to the institution.

The members honored were Prof Martins Ifeanacho, Prof Ngozi Iheanacho, Prof Nnena Frank-Peterside, and Prof Gurdion Obute, who represented the Senate; alongside Prof Nath Abraham and Lady Flora Iyagba, who represented the Congregation in the University’s highest governing body.

Speaking at the farewell ceremony, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa , showered encomiums on the outgoing members, highlighting their invaluable contributions and unwavering dedication to the University’s progress.

In response, Prof Martins Ifeanacho, speaking on behalf of the outgoing members, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and pledged continued support for the University’s mission.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of special gifts to the departing Council members as a token of appreciation for their exceptional service and contributions to the University’s growth and development.
