Diaspora BRIDGE Portal Goes Live – Connecting Global Talent with Nigeria’s Education Sector
The Federal Ministry of Education has officially launched the Diaspora BRIDGE website – the flagship digital platform of its BRIDGE Initiative, which stands for Bridging Research, Innovation, Development, and Global Engagement.

This groundbreaking portal is strategically designed to connect Nigerian academics and professionals in the diaspora with local institutions across universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and research centers. It provides a seamless pathway for diaspora experts to register as collaborators, submit their professional credentials and areas of expertise, and engage in structured partnerships aligned with Nigeria’s national priorities—particularly in education, innovation, research, and STEM-M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine) development.
The website also enables Nigerian tertiary institutions to express interest, conduct gap/needs assessments, and participate in targeted collaborations. It features robust engagement tools such as virtual seminars, eLearning modules, collaboration tracking, and searchable directories of members and institutions.

With this initiative, the Ministry aims to STEMM the gap by fostering inclusive global partnerships that drive academic and technological advancement in Nigeria.
