GOODWILL MESSAGE FROM THE VICE-CHANCELLOR, PROFESSOR OWUNARI ABRAHAM GEORGEWILL TO THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY IN THE UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT ON THE OCCASION OF THE 2025 EID AL-ADHA CELEBRATION

On behalf of the Management, Senate, Staff, Students and Stakeholders of the University of Port Harcourt, I extend warm felicitations to our Muslim brothers and sisters in the University of Port Harcourt and across the nation as they join Muslims around the world in celebrating Eid al-Adha – the Festival of Sacrifice.

Eid al-Adha is a significant occasion in the Islamic calendar, a moment that commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s undeniable faith and obedience to Allah.

Beyond the feasting, It is a time that calls for deep reflection on the virtues of sacrifice, compassion, and devotion.

As we mark this sacred festival, let us be inspired by its enduring lessons to live in peace, promote unity, and extend love and kindness to one another, especially the less privileged.

We urge us all to keep up with the values of righteousness, selflessness, and community spirit, which are the very essence of this holy season.

Let us also remember to pray for the peace, progress, and prosperity of our dear University and our beloved country, Nigeria.

May this Eid bring you and your families joy, renewed strength, and divine blessings.

Happy Celebrations!
