Dr. Davies Ibienebo Chris is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. He holds a Ph.D. in Fisheries and Hydrobiology with specialization in Aquatic Ecotoxicology and Environmental Chemistry, as well as M.Sc. and Bachelor’s degrees in Fisheries and Hydrobiology/Fisheries Science from the University of Port Harcourt.
Dr. Davies Ibienebo Chris is an active researcher and Research Fellow affiliated with INTI International University, Malaysia. His research interests span aquatic ecology, marine pollution, environmental chemistry, water quality assessment, heavy metal contamination, bioaccumulation, human health risk assessment, genotoxicology, fisheries biology, environmental impact assessment, and coastal/marine ecosystem management. He has published extensively in reputable local and international peer-reviewed journals and has contributed to books and book chapters on marine pollution, aquatic resources, and environmental management.
He has attracted research grants, including TETFund Institutional-Based Research grants, and serves as a peer reviewer for several international journals, including Springer Nature journals. His teaching portfolio covers undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as Aquatic Ecotoxicology, Water Quality and Pollution Control, Climate Change and Aquatic Sustainability, Limnology, Fish Production and Management, and Research Methodology.
Dr. Davies Ibienebo Chris is a member of several professional bodies, including the Fisheries Society of Nigeria, Nigerian Environmental Society, British Ecological Society, Association for Environmental Impact Assessment of Nigeria, and the National Registry of Environmental Professionals, USA. He has also received multiple awards for teaching excellence, student mentorship, professional service, and contributions to academic development.
