Professor Gabriel Sunday Oladipo is a distinguished Nigerian academic and Professor of Human Anatomy, specializing in Physical and Forensic Anthropology. He is based at the University of Port Harcourt. He is highly respected for his extensive research in forensic anthropology and his significant contributions to anatomical sciences across the globe. He has over 150 scientific publications and has presented papers including guest lectures at local and international conferences. He is a resource person to the Nigerian Naval Intelligent School, Ubima, Rivers State on Identification of Human Remains. He presented his inaugural lecture(207th Inaugural Lecture of the University of PortHarcourt) titled, Man: Fearfully Different, Wonderfully Made on 26th February, 2026 to the admiration of the crowd of people that gathered to listen to him.
Prof. Oladipo's research primarily centers on forensic anthropology, anthropometry, and developmental and neuroanatomy. He has conducted extensive studies on the dermatoglyphics and the estimation of stature among Nigerians, specifically focusing on the country's major tribes to aid in forensic identification and clinical diagnosis. He is a Fellow of the Anatomical Society of Nigeria (FASN) and Institute of Policy Management and Leadership Development(FIPMLD).
He has served as Head of Department, Associate Dean and Dean of Faculty as well as member and Chairman of committees within the university. He is the current Chairman, Departmental Postgraduate Board of his department. He has supervised several undergraduate students and more than 30 postgraduate students.
