IJEOMAH HENRY MADUABUCHI

Brief Biography

Prof. H.M. Ijeomah holds a Diploma in Public Administration and the Bachelor of Agriculture Degree in Forestry and Wildlife Management from the University of Uyo; a Master and Doctorate degrees in Wildlife Management from the University of Ibadan; and another Master degree and a second Ph.D degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Imo State University, Owerri.  

He joined the University of Port Harcourt in 2008, and rose through the ranks to a Professor of Wildlife Management and Ecotourism in 2018. He has served as Head of Department, and Associate Dean of Faculty of Agriculture. At present, Prof. Ijeomah is the Head of Ecotourism and Wildlife Management Unit in the Department of Environmental Forestry and Wildlife Management. He was an Adjunct lecturer with the Center for Marine Pollution Monitoring and Control, University of Port Harcourt; where he taught ‘Sustainable coastal tourism’, the course which he developed for the centre.

Prof. H.M. Ijeomah is a member of the Society for Conservation Biology, Fellow of Wildlife Society of Nigeria (WISON), Fellow of Forestry Association of Nigeria (FAN), and a Fellow of Hospitality and Tourism Management Association of Nigeria (HATMAN). He has published over one hundred articles in reputable journals, and presented many Lead papers at conferences. He is the Editor-in- Chief of HATMAN Journal of Hospitality and Tourism.
