IWUNDU MARY PASCHAL

Brief Biography

IWUNDU, Mary Paschal is a Professor of Statistics in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Faculty of Science, University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. She holds a PhD in Statistics (2008), from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and became a Full Professor in 2017. She is a Fellow of the Nigerian Statistical Association. Her research area is Optimal Experimental Design with a special interest in Response Surface Methodology and the application of Optimal design techniques in sequential search for optimal solutions in pharmaceutical, medical, agricultural, biological and industrial experiments. The utilization of these designs in field experiments with engineers, agronomists, food scientists, and several other industrial partners will give empirical support, confirming their effectiveness and efficiency. She has supervised over thirty Postgraduate theses and dissertations and published in reputable journals. She has served as Head/Member of the Department and Board, Committees, was the Director of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer office and received 2023 NOTAP Award as the best performing IPTTO Coordinator in Nigeria. To date, she is the Director of the Information and Communication Technology Centre of the University, Member of the Local Accreditation Committee, Member of NUC Accreditation Panel, Member of the Senate of the University and has taught full-time for 30 years.
