Brief Biography

Dr Nkolika Ogechukwu Nwazor is an Associate Professor of Computer and Control Engineering in the Department of Electrical/Electronic Engineering, University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. She holds a B.Eng, M.Eng, and PhD in Electronic and Computer Engineering (with a specialisation in Computer and Control Engineering) from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. She is a COREN-registered engineer and a member of several professional bodies including NSE, NIEEE, IEEE (USA), and OWSD. Her professional journey includes serving as Head of Department, Electrical/Electronic Engineering Department (2023-2025); Coordinator of the Engineering Management Programme (2021-2023), and Assistant Director at the Centre for Information and Telecommunication Engineering (2019-2021). Before joining the university in 2014, she was a Senior Research Engineer at the Electronic Development Institute, Awka. Dr Nwazor is passionate about mentoring girls in STEM through several outreach initiatives at secondary and higher education institutions, organising boot camps and other training programs. Her research interests span Systems Automation, Control Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Smart Agriculture, IoT, Information system design, Software Engineering, and Embedded Systems. She has supervised over 100 undergraduate projects, 25 master's dissertations, and 5 doctoral theses. She has published seventy (70) scholarly works in local and international journals. She is the lead author of Fundamentals of Electrical Measurement and Instrumentation and a chapter in Modernity in Health and Disease Diagnosis (Springer). Her ongoing research and academic leadership reflect a strong commitment to innovation, capacity building, and collaborative knowledge exchange.
