Professor BRAIMOH Omoigberai Bashiru, is a former Dean, Faculty of Dentistry. He served as Associate Dean of the Faculty for two terms under two former Deans. He also served as the Coordinator and Acting Head of Department of Community Dentistry and Periodontology for 7 years from 2010-2017.
Professor Braimoh graduated from the University of Benin where he obtained the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree and a Masters in Public Health (MPH) in 1999 and 2006 respectively. He obtained the Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons in Community Dentistry in October 2009. Professor Braimoh is a NUFFIC Scholar. He was awarded the NUFFIC scholarship in 2011 to pursue a certificate course at the St Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands. In December 2017, he further obtained Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Community Health Education from the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State Nigeria.
Prof Braimoh joined the service of the University of Port Harcourt in June 2010 as a Lecture 1 and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in October 2013. In October 2019, he was promoted to rank of Professor of Community Dentistry. Professor Braimoh has served as a member of various Committees within the University.
