Prof. Angela I. Emodi

Professor Angela I. Emodi, a renowned academic, obtained her degrees (B.Sc Home Economics Education; PhD in Agricultural Extension (Administration)) from the University of Nigeria Nsukka; M.Sc in Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology; PGD in Agricultural Economics and Extension from the Rivers State University. She served as the pioneer Head of the Department of Agricultural Extension and Development Studies at the University of Port Harcourt. Her research excellence has earned her prestigious fellowships and grants from national and international organizations, notably:  Fellow, African Technology Policy Studies Network (ATPS) (2008-2011); Grant Award from the Center for Development Innovation (CDI), University of Wageningen in The Netherlands; Co-researcher in TETFund NRF and IBR Grants (Nigeria). She is a member of numerous professional organizations including: Agricultural Extension Society of Nigeria (AESON), International Association of Agricultural Extension (IAAE), African Technology Policy Studies Network (ATPS) (Research Fellow), Agricultural Society of Nigeria (ASN), Home Economics Research Association of Nigeria (HERAN), Farm Management Association of Nigeria (FAMAN), Nigerian Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (NIFAAS), International Rural Sociology Association (IRSA). Professor Emodi has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, contributing significantly to her field. Her academic achievements and research contributions have solidified her position as a leading expert in agricultural extension and development.


Mrs. CHINYELU IRENE NWOKOLO

Mrs. Chinyelu Irene NWOKOLO is an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Agricultural Extension and Development Studies, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. She is currently a Ph.D. student (in Agricultural Extension Communication) in the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria and obtained her MSc degree from the same University. She obtained a B.Agric degree (in Agricultural Extension) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She also holds a proficiency certificate in Management (from Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered)).

She is actively involved in teaching, research, Community Development Services, sports (basketball) and journalism. She is a Journal Peer Reviewer and has attended many conferences and published many peer-reviewed articles in reputable journals.  Her research interests include but are not limited to Agricultural Communication, Biodiversity Conservation, Environmental Sustainability, Climate Change, Gender Studies, and Agricultural Policy.

Mrs. Nwokolo is a member of African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD), Organisation for Women in Science for Developing Countries (OWSD), Agricultural Extension Society of Nigeria (AESON), and other reputable professional bodies.

She is currently an Emerging Policy Professional under the Gender Responsive Agriculture Systems Policy (GRASP) Fellowship, an initiative of AWARD.

Professor S. O. Olatunji

Professor S. O. Olatunji lectures in the Department of Agricultural Extension and Development Studies, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.

He holds a NCE and a BSc degree (1st Class Honours) certificates in Agricultural Science Education, a MSc in Agricultural Extension Services and a PhD in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development., He also hold a MEd and a PhD in Measurement and Evaluation.  He is multi-skilled with vast experience spanning more than 29 years in Teaching, Training and Research in Agricultural Extension Systems and capacity building in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development. Most of his research activities focused on Agricultural Extension Systems, measurement and evaluation, farmers’ health and livelihood, impact assessment, gender and youths’ studies in Agriculture, food security and application of I C T in Agriculture.

 His job description include: Teaching, Training, Research, supervision of undergraduate, PGD, MSc and PhD Thesis. He has conducted several Internal and External Examinations for Graduate Students’ Thesis, Internal and External assessment of candidates for promotion into Professorial cadre. He was Head of Department at various times and the Coordinator of Departmental Graduate Studies’ Programme for 4 years.

Professor Olatunji has successfully supervised more than 200 First Degree and PGDE/PGD projects as well as several MEd, MSc and PhD theses. He has authored 12 Academic textbooks, 4 Monographs, 8 Book Chapters, 62 Articles in Foreign and Local Learned Journals and 2 Edited Books. He is the author of the famous “Demystified Introductory and Advanced Statistical Methods…”. He is currently an External Examiner to the University of Eswatini (Swaziland) and Annamalai University, Tamil, Nadu, India. He serves as External Examiner to many Local and International Universities. He is a member of several Learned Societies and Professional Bodies such as ASN, AESON and NIFAAS.


Dr. Okorie, Ugochi Glad

Dr. Okorie, Ugochi Glad is a lecturer at the Department of Agricultural Extension and Development Studies, University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. She holds a doctorate in Agricultural Extension (Community and Rural Development). with research focus on the socio-economic impacts of development projects on rural women and community development in Nigeria.  Dr. Okorie has contributed significantly to the academic discourse in her field. Her research outcomes have practical implications for poverty alleviation and empowering rural women, youths and children. She actively engages with community organizations, advocating entrepreneurship and regenerative agriculture through practical initiatives with young adults and women’s groups. She has published several journal articles. She is passionate about significantly contributing to achieving Sustainable Development Goals 1, 2 and 5 (zero hunger, poverty alleviation and gender equality) respectively.  She has been actively involved in extension outreach programs of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Her dedication extends beyond the classroom, as she mentors young adults on agricultural entrepreneurship skills. Beyond the university walls, she is actively involved in community services. This deep engagement with the community demonstrates her commitment to social responsibility and her desire to improve the lives of others.
