I am a mangrove ecologist, and I do my research on the impact of hydrocarbon pollution, urbanization, and invasive species on mangrove forests in the Niger Delta. I have over 15 years of experience in mangrove forest research. I have a B.Sc. in zoology (University of Port Harcourt) and an M.Sc. in environmental management (Rivers State University) before training as a biologist at Saint Louis University, Missouri, USA, where I got my PhD in ecology, evolution, and systematics. I am an associate professor in the Department of Animal and Environmental Biology and the Head of the Department of Biology Biotechnology at the University of Port Harcourt. I have over 70 publications in local and international journals.
