FAITH E. NNENANYA

Faith E. Nnenanya (nee Osegi) is a Civil Engineering Lecturer at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Port Harcourt. She holds a B.Eng. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from University of Port Harcourt and MSc & DIC in Geotechnical Engineering from Imperial College London. After her first degree, graduating as the Best Student of Civil Engineering, Faith was hired as a Design Structural Engineer at Dover Engineering Limited, where she gained significant industry experience designing various structures for oil and gas facilities. In 2010, she moved to academia to pursue her passion for teaching, research and impacting the next generation of engineers.

Faith teaches and conducts research at undergraduate and graduate levels in her area of specialization – Geotechnical Engineering. She has advised over 150 students and supervised over 30 research students. Her current research interests touches priority areas such as multi-hazards identification, mapping and mitigation; 3-dimensional ground modelling; risk and catastrophe modelling of infrastructure (e.g. dams, bridges) subjected to natural hazards (e.g. floods, landslides, subsidence); and community resilience to disasters caused by climate change.
Faith is a recipient of 11 awards and prizes in recognition of her scholarly achievements and notable service.
