Dr Charles Percy OKPANI

Dr Charles Percy OKPANI is a Christ follower .
He is a Surgeon and a Fellow, West African College of Surgeons, Urology at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, with special interest in Renal transplantation, endourology and male infertility.
He is currently a Senior lecturer/ Consultant Urologist in the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, University of Port Harcourt. He is the timetable coordinator for the department of Surgery and a member of The academic board
He holds a certification in Leadership and Management in Health from the University of Washington.
He is a commonwealth fellow and has Master of Surgery from the University of Edinburg, Scotland
He is a member of The King’s Assembly and serves as the team coordinator of the Health care ministry
He has a passion for missions and providing quality affordable health care to Nigerians no matter their economic status. He is married to Dr Chioma Okpani and they are blessed with 3 children

Professor Chioma Nwaonu Unachukwu

Prof. Chioma N. Unachukwu is a professor of Medicine and an Honorary Consultant Physician / Endocrinologist with the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital. Her research focuses more on the field of Endocrinology with special interest in the burden of diabetes and thyroid disorders. She is very passionate about health education, especially diabetes education. She presented the 167th inaugural lecture of the University of Port Harcourt (30th January 2020), titled “The burden of the Foot in Diabetes: a preventable agony”.
She has authored more than 70 publications in national and international peer reviewed journals, 2 books and contributed chapters in 4 books.
She is an editor and reviewer to many journals including the Port Harcourt Medical Journal, the Africa Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism, the Nigerian Health Journal to mention but a few. She has supervised many medical doctors, dieticians, nurses etc for awards of post graduate fellowships, master’s and doctorate degrees. She was the Head, department of Medicine from 2012-2014.

Education: MB, BCH, University of Jos, FMCORL; MD, National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.
Background: I am a distinguished professional/academic with expertise in Otorhinolaryngology. Born in Jos, Nigeria, I have demonstrated exceptional academic prowess, earning a first degree in Medicine and Surgery and a specialist Fellowship in Otorhinolaryngology in 1992 from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.
Career: My illustrious career spans 40 years, with notable roles as a Lecturer and Consultant at the University of Jos and Jos University Teaching Hospital till 1999. I am currently a Professor of Otorhinolaryngology. My passion drives teaching of medical students and resident doctors. I am a mentor and supervisor of research projects for resident doctors.

Prof Kennedy Tamunoimigbam Wariso

Prof Kennedy Tamunoimigbam Wariso is the Dean, faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences in the University of Port Harcourt and a Consultant Clinical Microbiologist and Infectious Disease Physician in the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital. He graduated from the University of Port Harcourt and had his fellowship from the NPMCN. He is the Chairman of the Hospital Research Ethics Committee and a Biorisk Management expert.
He is the Assistant Secretary of the faculty board. He is the Vice President of the College of Nigerian Pathologists and a visiting Professor to two medical schools in Nigeria.
He has supervised dissertations and thesis for Fellowships, PhDs and Masters degree students. He has published more than fifty articles in peer review journals and written two books in his related field, a professorial assessor to some universities as well as external examiner to many of them.
He is also an examiner to the National Postgraduate Medical College and a member of the team that accredits post graduate training in Pathology in most tertiary health institutions in the country. Prof Wariso has received trainings within and outside Nigeria and he is widely travelled. Working in infectious diseases and antibiotic resistance organisms are the thrust of his research activities.
