DR. GLADYS IBIBO CHARLES-OGAN

DR. GLADYS IBIBO CHARLES-OGAN holds a PhD (Mathematics Education), University of Port Harcourt (2015), M.Ed. Science Education, University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt (2008), B.Sc. (Ed). Mathematics, University of Uyo, (1990) and NCE Mathematics/Chem (Ibadan), 1988.

She joined the Faculty of Education, University of Port Harcourt as Assistant Lecturer in 2014, and has held positions of increasing responsibility as Lecturer II (2015), Lecturer I (2018) and Senior lecturer (2021). In 2024. she applied for promotion as Associate Professor.

She teaches Mathematics Education courses and supervises projects, dissertation and Thesis at undergraduate, Master’s and PhD levels in the Department of Science Education and Department of Curriculum Studies and Educational Technology. She is Academic adviser for U2017 students, and supervises students on Teaching Practice.

A Fellow of the Mathematical Association of Nigeria (2016) and Fellow of the Science Teachers’ Association of Nigeria (2018) she sits on the Editorial and Advisory Boards of the African Academic Research Forum, South Africa, and belongs to other professional associations including National Council of Teachers in Mathematics (NCTM), USA.

She has over seventy publications in recognized academic journals, and speaks at global mathematics conferences.

Born on 21st November 1964. Dr. Gladys Charles-Ogan is married with children.
