This is to inform the public that the sale of application forms for admission into the following Programmes:
of the University of Port Harcourt for the 2025/2026 academic session has commenced.
INTRODUCTION: The Institute of Niger Delta Studies was established in June 2011 to train and produce a crop of people who are equipped with analytical, conceptual, and critical thinking skills, to enhance their employability and professional career development career development to meet today’s industrial and social needs in the global community.
AIM: The Institute aims to produce world-class professionals and to inculcate in students the ability to critically examine the nature, extent, and effects of security problems in the Niger Delta and the global society as well as examine and provide solutions to the challenges unique to marine and coastal environments, from the health of ocean ecosystems to coastlines’ conservation, preservation, and sustainable development.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
The PGD programme in Security and Intelligence Studies is open to candidates with at least a Third Class Degree and HND Upper credit in any discipline at the University of Port Harcourt or any other recognized University.
M.Sc. degree programme in Security and Intelligence Studies is open to candidates with at least a Second-Class Honours degree in any discipline at the University of Port Harcourt or any other recognized university.
The PhD programme in Security and Intelligence Studies is open to candidates with at least a Master’s Degree, with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 in Security and Intelligence Studies, Sociology and law.
The PGD programme in Blue Economy and Maritime Studies is open to candidates with at least a Third Class Degree or HND Upper Credit in any discipline.
The M.Sc programme in Blue Economy and Maritime Studies is open to candidates with at least a first-degree (second- class honours) in Geography, Environmental Management, Economics, Animal and Environmental Biology, Plant Science and Biotechnology , Animal Science, Crop Science, Transport, Logistics, or Management Sciences.

The Sale of Application Form ends on 15th October, 2025. Completed Application Forms must be returned to the Institute of Niger Delta Studies, Delta Park Campus, University of Port Harcourt on or before 31st October, 2025.
