EID EL-FITR MESSAGE FROM THE VICE-CHANCELLOR, PROF. OWUNARI ABRAHAM GEORGEWILL TO ALL MUSLIM FAITHFUL IN THE UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT AND THE GLOBAL MUSLIM COMMUNITY

In this period in the Muslim calender, homes and communities across Nigeria and the University of Port Harcourt are filled with joy, gratitude, and reflection. The month-long journey of fasting, prayer, sacrifice, and self-discipline comes to a meaningful close, giving way to a time of celebration—Eid al-Fitr.

Beyond the festivities, Eid al-Fitr is a profound reminder that the true spirit of Ramadan extends beyond fasting—it is about growing in compassion, patience, and dedication to the welfare of others, while reinforcing the bonds of community, peaceful coexistence, and national solidarity.

On behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Staff, Students, and all stakeholders of the University of Port Harcourt, We extend warm felicitations to the Muslim community of our esteemed university and global Muslim community, as you celebrate the 2026 Eid al-Fitr.

May this year’s celebration serve as a reminder of the enduring values of faith, sacrifice, compassion, self-discipline, and generosity—principles that reflect the very foundation of our nation.

Let us continue to extend love and kindness to our neighbors and remember those who are less privileged.

May this Eid bring renewed hope, peace, and abundant blessings to you and your families.

Blessed Eid al-Fitr!
