PHILOSOPHY
The Centre for Higher Education Studies (CHES) has as its philosophy the development of educational human resources at the Tertiary level. CHES driving force is to carry out research and engage in manpower development & planning for the continuous Improvement of the standard of Higher Education. The Centre is entrusted with the provision of campus-wide support for education and student life as well as carrying out research and development for higher education.
MISSION The mission of the Centre is to carry out research and development for higher education for the improvement of teacher competence, institutionalization and internalization of higher education in Nigeria and enhancement of University or industry collaboration.
GOALS/OBJECTIVES For the implementation of this philosophy and mission, the centre aims to be a leading centre of its kind and endeavors to contribute to the development of research and scholarship into higher education. The centre has the following goals:
The Centre Runs courses leading to Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), Higher Diploma in Education (HDE) for candidates who already have bachelor’s degree in education inclusive of pass and 3rd class degree holders and Professional Diploma in Education (PDE) for those who wish to specialize in different areas of education.
