EDITORIAL
Information for our Readers and Contributors
The Editor-in-Chief, on behalf of the Editorial Board and the Department, wishes to inform our numerous contributors and readers as follows:
That the journal, NJESPE, Publishes well researched empirical information and theoretical articles as good as empirical ones which carry highly probed and searched out facts about various aspects of human behaviour.
That the word, empirical appearing in the title of the journal, operationally subsumes both researched and theoretical works of good quality and with element of novelty of ideas.
That the word, empirical in the title of the Journal is also designated to discourage and reduce high influx of low quality theoretical works.
That NJESPE is open to both empirical and theoretical articles that meet the assessment level of the Editorial board.
Nigerian Journal of Empirical Studies in Psychology and Education (NJESPE), is a journal of the Department of Educational Psychology, Guidance and Counselling, University of Port Harcourt. It is a truism that human beings interact with their internal and external environments in various ways on a relative and distinct basis within their genetic and environmental framework. Hence, human beings are entities of complex behaviours influenced by situational factors at any point in time. For cordial interaction among ourselves in various personal and social settings including the family, classroom, community and the larger society, we need to understand why and how people behave the way they do.
The Nigerian Journal of Empirical Studies in Psychology and Education is an important source from which anyone can obtain academic information resulting from well-articulated scholarly theoretical search, and well researched work on any of the diverse human behaviours. Readers of NJESPE are therefore assured for their consumption, of highly investigated work on human behaviours. Improved human relations in the family, school and other social and personal settings are implicated in proper understanding of overall human behaviours, which is the role, and focus of NJESPE. Behaviour, from its simplistic point of view, is an activity of an organism in any environment at any point in time.
Based on this, the Department which publish this journal, entertains articles dealing on human beings, their behaviour in diverse settings, and various tools and procedures for assessing such human behaviours. Such articles could come from all disciplines including Social Science, Human, Medicine, and more especially Education and Psychology and other related disciplines.
We encourage you to always read and contribute articles in NJESPE, which is a repository of indispensable knowledge about human behaviours.
