Council Approves DIA, CSO Appointments

Following the successful conduct of interview, the Governing Council has approved the appointment of a substantive Director for the Internal Audit Unit and Chief Security Officer of the University. The Vice Chancellor, Professor Owunari Georgewill, in a letter dated October 28, 2021, conveyed Council approval of the appointment of Dr Boniface Woko as the substantive Director, Internal Audit Unit.

The Vice Chancellor stated that “the appointment is for a tenure of five (5) years in the first instance, renewable for a second tenure of five years, subject to satisfactory performance.”

In a related development, the Vice Chancellor has also conveyed Council approval of the appointment of former Commissioner of Police, CP Alali Pedro (rtd) as new Chief Security of the University. The letter of appointment revealed that the Contract Appointment is for one year and renewable annually.

The Vice Chancellor congratulated Dr Woko and CP Alali for emerging successful at the interview. He wished them well in their new positions, enjoining them to give of their best to the University.
