NCC Donates Notebook Computers To Uniport

The Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) through its Advanced Digital Access Programmes for Technology Institutions (ADAPTI) Scheme, donated 110 Brian Notebook Computers to the University of Port Harcourt penultimate Tuesday at the Senate Building, University Park.

Presenting the items, Mr. Olumide Akinde of NCC/Brian Integrated Systems, said that the University is one of the Institutions benefiting from the Programme, expressing hope that they would be put to judicious use for the benefit of staff and students.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Joseph Ajienka, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Bernard Efiuvwevwere, expressed gratitude to the Commission for the gesture, assuring it that the University would make proper use of the computers. 
The Vice-Chancellor, who said that the University laid emphasis on Information Technology, expressed optimism that more of such donations would be made to the Institution by other public-spirited individuals and corporate organizations.
Also present at the event was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Ethelbert Nduka. It would be recalled that NCC had previously made a similar donation to the University.
