THIS WEEK IN RETROSPECT IN THE UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT ( Monday, 14th March – Friday, 18th March, 2022)

1. We recieved the British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Ben Llewellyn-Jones who paid a courtesy call on the University Management. He participated in the Renewable Energy Transition programme organized by the Offshore Training Institute of the University.
2.We inspected the ongoing projects at the Faculty of Social Sciences Annex, TetFund hostel at Unipark and renovation at Ashgrove Academy.
3. The meeting of Tenders Board was held to consider tenders and grant approvals in line with the extant laws of the Procurement Act.
4. We received the Chaplain and some members of Chapel of Annunciation to discuss on issues of construction of car park vis a vis the master plan of the University. We had fruitful deliberations
5. We recieved in audience a delegation from the Nigeria Postal Service who were on ground to felicitate with the University and discuss areas of interest.
6. A team from the Global Transformers Network paid a courtesy call on the University to intimate us on their Legacy Conference tagged "But for Legacy, what is Leadership". We encouraged them to be more optimistic of a greater Nigerian vision.
7. We felicitated with the wife of our Pro-Chancellor, Mrs. Ngozi A. Uchendu on the occasion of her birthday celebration.
8. The University of Port Harcourt is ably represented by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Owunari A. Georgewill at the ongoing NUGA games hosted by the University of Lagos. We had a motivational session with our contingents and we are pleased to inform the University Community that they are in very high spirit.
9. We recieved some new Toyota cars donated to the University by friends of the University.
