Christmas Wishes of Love from the Vice Chancellor

Christmas is a special season of love, goodwill and gratitude for everything we have received from the Almighty God and through the instrumentalities of human agencies.
It is also a season of stock-taking and future expectations for a better life and to deepen our faith in God as God has the solution to all societal challenges.
It is on this note that we use this opportunity to call on you to promote love, peace and unity and remain committed to the worthy ideals exemplified by the birth of Jesus Christ as you celebrate the yuletide. As we spend time with those we love, let us celebrate the blessings we cherish, embrace the spirit of giving, and look out for one another.
The Management of the University of Port Harcourt which I am privileged to lead is very grateful to you for your services to the University, and your uncommon dedication throughout the year has been unswerving. Let me on behalf of Council and Management, wish you all happy Christmas in this season of goodwill and tidings of great Joy.
Your services to the University through your hard work and dedication cannot be quantified and we want you all to know that we would not have been where we are today if not for your support and uncommon dedication to duties. To you all, we say thank you.
It is quite gratifying to note that the journey so far has been very interesting due to the cooperation of staff and students and we promise to use every opportunity at our disposal to promote internal cohesion and integration.
We assure you that we will continue to run an all-inclusive administration where the interest of staff and students will always be protected at all times. Not only that, our administration has come up with strategies where everyone would benefit from the programmes of the Institution.
Let me admonish you to use this festive season of thanksgiving and merry-making to resolve to build a future, where all people will learn to love one another and to live together in harmony; where all our children will know true joy; and where our hopes for peace, freedom and prosperity for all are finally realised.
We would like to express our gratitude to our staff, students and stakeholders for believing in us to steer the ship of leadership of the University of Port Harcourt.
We wish to also use this medium to express our collective gratitude to the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Senator Andrew Uchendu and other members of the Governing Council for their sacrificial leadership and commitment to the development of the University.
While wishing you a merry Christmas, we urge you to celebrate the season with moderation and erect platforms of love, peace and reconciliation for the greater development of the University.
