Store aesthetics and customer satisfaction of selected supermarkets in rivers state

Journal of management and social sciences, volume 6. No. 1 March. ISSN: 979-41323, PP110-120. Published by faculty of management and social sciences, Hezekiah university Port Harcourt.

The study empirically examined the relationship between store aesthetics and customer satisfaction of supermarkets in rivers state. 200 copies of questionnaire were administered to the customers of various sampled supermarkets rivers and all the copies of questionnaire were successfully retrieved and valid for analysis using Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient in testing the hypothesis with the aid of statistical package for social science (SPSS). Results revealed that there is a very strong positive relationship between store lighting and customer retention. From our findings it was concluded that store aesthetics has a significant and positive link with customer satisfaction. The study recommends that supermarket owners should put up attractive lighting around the supermarket as this has been proven to command retention of customers.

Leveraging entrepreneurship development for Nigeria economic diversification: the role of selected government agencies

The paper focused on the role of Nigerian government in encouraging entrepreneurship development of Nigeria economic diversification. The study took a descriptive survey and its population was drawn from 50 identified YouWin project winners and 24 senior staff of national Directorate Agency of Nigeria, Owerri area offices making a total of 74. Taro Yamene was used to selected sample of 63 respondents from the population  and the data was gathered through the questionnaire was analyzed and hypotheses tested using the non-parametric one sample Wilcoxon sign test (W) with the aid of statistical package for social sciences (SPSS 20.0 version). The study conclude that while government is investing in diverse sectors it is important that requisite economic skill may be developed and entrenched among the citizenry through entrepreneurship development. The paper therefore recommended that government provision of skill acquisition should be made more professional and specialized to reflect critical industry needs. This will ensure the inclusion of Nigerians in critical industries that drives the economy, there should a deliberate and conscientious effort at promoting local SMEs through government patronage and that government should as a matter of urgency bridge infrastructural gap especially power supply to ensure that entrepreneurs in Nigeria manufacture their product at a competitive rate

The nexus between entrepreneurship orientation and employees’ creativity in a selected micro finance banks in Port Harcourt

This study focused on establishing a link between entrepreneurship orientation and individual creativity. While innovativeness and risk taking were used to measure entrepreneurship orientation, responsive and contributory creativity were considered as the dimensions of individual creativity. The research design for the study was the survey research design and its population consists of 50 entrepreneurs selected across the three geopolitical zones of Imo state. The major instrument for data collection was a five point likert scale questionnaire titled entrepreneurship orientation and individual creativity questionnaire (EIandICQ). The statistical tool used for data analysis was t-test using the 20.0 version of statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). From the findings the study concludes that there is a strong positive link between entrepreneurship orientation and individual creativity. In line with the findings as encapsulated in the conclusions, it was recommended that at organizational level, the recruitment process should be structured to identify creative and innovative individuals in other to place them in positions where they can drive new business initiatives of the organization, while at the individual level, it is important for entrepreneurs to develop their creative capacities in other to remain afloat in business.
