Panellists Task Students On Leadership At NEXLEAD Forum

Associate Dean of the Student Affairs Department, Dr. Adedamola Onyeaso, has charged students of the University to make optimal use of the opportunity available to them to positively impact on society.
Dr. Onyeaso gave the charge while speaking as one of the Panellists at an interactive forum organised by the NEXLEAD Africa Initiative for students of the University aimed at interfacing on personal career development, including family and leadership development issues at the Ebitimi Banigo Auditiorium, on Friday, July 28, 2017.
“You have to create a good world around yourself by being in the right place and time to achieve your full potentials and exercise influence on society. Always remember that the end of your thinking is your imagination. You don't need to allow the negative things that happened to your parents to affect your drive to greater opportunities. Don't allow yourself to be rejected and you must rise up to make yourself relevant to present realities if you hope to make it to the top of your career choices,” the Associate Dean further charged the students. Other Panellists spoke along the same line by admonishing the students to hold onto their vision and chase their dreams.
Speaking on the aim of the forum, Administrative Secretary of the Initiative and final year student of the Faculty of Dentistry, Miss Chioma Achonye, described NEXLEAD Africa Initiative as a body of young people driven by the passion to transform African countries through purposeful leadership and networking.
“We seek to find hope for the leadership malaise that has kept Africa down for so long. We are determined to join forces with other progressive forces to influence the leadership paradigm to something more futuristic, goal-oriented, purpose-driven and selflessly heroic by reaching out to youth perception of leadership,” Miss Achonye said.
Other Panellists included Pastor Wisdom Osiri, Messrs Dokun Oyedotun, Victor Nnaukwu, Mrs. Kate Onakomaiya and Sandra Abasiattai, amongst others.
