Mr. VitalisOghanwoAliezi joined the services of the University of Port Harcourt in 1984 as an HEO A/Cs. He has headed various Units in the Bursary Department since 1984 till date as: Head, Payroll and Pension Unit (1984 – 1986); Head, Treasury Unit (1987-1989); Accountant, Works and Service Dept. (1990-1992); Accountant, college of Cont.Edu. (CCE) (1993-1996); Budget control Officer, Finance and Budget Division (1996 – 1997); Chief Accountant, Finance and Budget Division (1997 – 2004); Deputy Bursar/Acting Director, Budget Division (2004 – 2007); Deputy Bursar/Acting Director of BOREC, Revenue Bureau Unit (2007 – 2009). He has also held several responsibilities within the University and at large. He also represented the Bursar in Junior Staff (A&PC), 1984 -1986, Housing Committee (1984 – 1986), NUGA Council meeting in UNICAL – 1988, capital and Implementation task Force Committee (1996 – 1999), Board of College of Continuing (CCE) – 2003 – date, Committee for the Review of accounting Procedures and Financial Guideline of the University – 1997, Member, Strategic Planning Review Committee and Congregation representative on Appointments, Member, Board of Governor, UDSS and Promotions Committee (SPATS).
He is presently the Bursar of the University of Port Harcourt. He is a Certified National Accountant (CNA) with a B.Sc (Hons) in Accounting. His Hobbies/Extra Curricular Activities include: Learning, lawn Tennis and Music
